Perfectly Independent.
Those who work entry level jobs in Denver aren’t supposed to skip town in the night after consuming ten beers at the local dive. I was supposed to be in bed, resting for another day of the office grind.  Instead, I was forgoing every possible responsibility for several days to travel halfway across the country a rock band.

February 28th took me to the Three Kings Tavern on south Broadway in Denver.  This is an end of town where the fetish shops outnumber the second-hand stores.  This end of town is loaded down with pubs and taverns and a gritty feel which only serves as a magnet to the city's collection of trendy folk – not to mention the band of people looking to escape the norm..

Monday be damned, The Little Elmore Reed Blues Band is gonna have a good time.  And, if you’re stopping by TC’s Lounge to join them, you don’t have a choice not to. 

 

 

New York post-punk/art rock band The Liars put together an impressive set on Saturday night at Mohawk. Though a tinge of hesitation lingered from front man Angus Andrew’s back injuries, he still managed to pull out all of his usual impressive stage antics.
