Bichi was founded a few years back by Danish producer Tobias Wilner. You can call his music indie / folktronia, shoegaze, electronica or just Bichi. Bichi is focusing atmospheric sounds, digital beat manipulation, nice melodies. Bichi has released an album “Notwithstanding” on Opiate aka Thomas Knaks label Hobby Industries in 2005. The vocal on the album comes courtesy of Sara Savery (People Press Play). Bichi has toured Japan 3 times, played in Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, UK.
Bichi has produced music for movies like "Twilight", "Miami Vice", "Manslaughter", "the OC Show", done several albums for the band Blue Foundation, worked with DJ Krush on the track "Decks-Athron" from"Jaku", released music with DJ Klock, worked with Numb, Mew....etc.
Bichi is the producer and main source of Blue Foundation.
He created Blue Foundation back in 1999 with his brother Anders Mannov (No More Heroes) and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjaerg (Stern).
These days Bichi is working on his new album, it will be released in 2009 early 2010. He is also finishing a cooperation with Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon) for Blue Foundation.
His album "Notwithstanding" is about focusing on letting the machines and plugins do the magic in collaboration with manipulated acoustic instruments. This could be what people call Indietronica, but we think its just Bichi. With Notwitstanding Tobias has succeseded in creating a fine balanced and layered album for people like us to enjoy.
Hobby and Bichi collaborated on the release including the design concept, which resulted in unique art by local artists, Le-Fix. Le-Fix is known for the overall design and graphic works for Alis skateboards, clothing line and their artwork for Uarms. Accompaning lyrics by Blue Foundation member, Scott Martingell a.k.a MC Jabber.
