Bio

Exstus is on a mission:  To spread a message of dance, spirituality and love through the creation of innovative transglobal trip-hop, dub, breakbeat and jungle.  Lush sonic textures and phat beats coexist with virtuosic jazz & flamenco guitar in the context of uplifting, ultra-modern, ALL-ORIGINAL songs.  Songs and fan feedback may be viewed (along with other information) at www.exstus.com.

This fresh take on modern music is evident throughout the rich diversity of Exstus material currently being produced.  On these efforts, traditional world music blends with jazz, the sounds of nature, modern synthesizers and rich bass.  Elements from all parts of the globe come together to create multi-textured, 3-dimensional music that makes the body move – and makes the spirit soar.  In addition to being the featured musical artist at high-profile events such as the 2005 & 2006 Dennis Quaid Charity Classics, Exstus created music for the video game Devastation Zone Troopers, composed the score for the Gaia Bonsignore movie “The Hallway” and has performed shows with accomplished artists including DJ Rap, Sandra Collins, Neptune and Govinda.  Exstus has also been a featured artist on a number of online radio stations such as SomaFM, Calmscape & Liquid Lounge, as well as having received airplay on radio stations in Austin and other areas.

Hailing from Austin Texas, Exstus has two incarnations:  a studio/production form and a live performance form.  In the studio, Exstus is Bart Landry from beginning to end - from composition through final production.  Having played and produced music for 20 years, Bart is on a mission:  to combine his diverse experiences and influences into one solid, cohesive package.  Live, Exstus is Bart Landry performing original Exstus material and improvising live jazz/flamenco guitar over selected tracks, accompanied by compelling visuals, performance art and/or bellydancing.  Begun in 2001, Exstus brings you a sound that is dynamic, highly danceable, and super-phat!

Current focus is on the booking of live events and festivals as well as promotion of the recently released CD Sounds of the Divine.
